The softer ground here will help and he can open his account with Midnight Dove preferred to Xenophon of the others.

Volcan Surprise has been second twice over fences but blinkers didn't initiate any discernible improvement at Wetherby last month. Balinroab was sent off favourite for a much better race at Haydock in March but was well beaten. He's capable of better, however, and Brunswick Gold didn't give his true running at Perth last time though is proving expensive to follow. DELGANY GUNNER is probably back on a decent mark and, though beaten in a four-runner race last time, only went down by half-a-length. The bottom weight can come out on top though Paul O'Brien's claim will help Wincanton runner-up Masked Man again.

ARTIC PRIDE wasn't disgraced in what looked a hot race at Cheltenham at the start of the month. A winner of five of his nine starts between the flags, Emma Clark's charge looks the one to be on here. Farmer Frank was well beaten on his latest start in a point-to-point but Bedrock Fred gamely made all at Hursley Hambledon three weeks ago and could go well if handling these stiffer fences. John Dillon would be a surprise winner however.

Keltic Rhythm keeps knocking on the door but may find one too good again here. Make Me A Fortune has been placed in a point-to-point while Il Testone was third at Newcastle last time, though appears a little one-paced. Say When is a half-brother to the stable winning hurdler Forresters Folly but fellow debutant KING'S OPUS possibly have more speed in his pedigree and is just preferred on this occasion.
