England will give Germany what four, reckon punters

| 26.06.2010

Ladbrokes report four times as many match bets for England as Germany ahead of the old rivals’ last 16 clash.

The Three Lions are 8/5 to win in 90 minutes, 4/5 to progress and 11/1 to go through on penalties. Joachim Low’s side are 7/4, evens and 10/1 respectively.

Ladbrokes spokesman, Nick Weinberg, said: “Patriotic punters are tipping Capello’s men to do the business. A nation expects and firmly believes that it will be England’s day.”

The firm go 33/1 about the misfiring Wayne Rooney grabbing a hat-trick, whilst Slovenia goal hero Jermain Defoe is 50/1 to help himself to the match ball.
