Molinari overtakes Clarke to lead at Scottish Open

Edoardo Molinari has overtaken Darren Clarke to lead the Scottish Open, after shooting an excellent third round of 63.

Molinari is now the 4/6 favourite to win the tournament, after hauling himself back into contention at Loch Lomond with four birdies from his last five holes.

Francesco Molinari, Edoardo’s younger brother, is in hot pursuit of the leaders on -8, and he is a 16/1 shot to be victorious at Loch Lomond.

Swede Peter Hedblom joins Francesco on -8, and he is 25/1 to win the Scottish Open.

First round leader Graeme Storm has fallen further back at -6, and he is now 80/1 to lift the trophy.

Phil Mickelson, meanwhile, has missed the cut after enduring a miserable first two rounds.

Mickelson had the opportunity to overtake Tiger Woods as the world number one with at least a second place finish, but he finished his second round a shot over the +2 cut mark.
