Murray 9/4 second favourite for Wimbledon glory

| 01.07.2010

Andy Murray is just 9/4 to win Wimbledon according to Ladbrokes, after advancing to the semi-finals.

The Scot now meets tournament favourite Rafa Nadal (11/10 for the title) on Friday in what bookies expect to be a record-breaking match in SW19, as up to £5 million is expected to be gambled on the clash.

David Williams of Ladbrokes said: “The Murray versus Rafa match will be massive. The World Cup is playing second fiddle to Murraymania right now and the country hasn’t stopped backing Andy for glory all week.

“We were beginning to panic before the quarters but now we’re really over-heating. If Murray goes on to win Wimbledon it’ll be the greatest ever day for tennis punters – and undoubtedly one of our worst.”

Who will win Wimbledon?

11/10 Nadal
9/4 Murray
9/2 Djokovic
11/2 Berdych
