England vs Pakistan – Pakistan’s woes to continue in one day series

| 10.09.2010

England’s one day squad will enter the One Day Internationals with Pakistan in good spirits after completing a 2-0 win in the Twenty20 series.

Unless Pakistan dramatically improve their fielding skills, Paul Collingwood’s side will be very confident of completing a series victory and they could even set their sights on a whitewash – they are 3/1 to win 5-0.

Pakistan’s woes both on and off the pitch can afford England to use these ODI’s as a warm-up before their trip to Australia in November, giving the top order batsman a perfect opportunity to find some runs.

England are 1/3 to win the first test, but will be looking to Jonathan Trott to guide them to victory after poor showings from the Test batsman during the summer, and average displays from top order in the T20.

Trott is the only England batsman who can comfortably say he’s in good nick and he is 7/4 to get 50 against Pakistan and 5/6 to score more runs that his captain Paul Collingwood.

Pakistan have called up bowler Mohammad Ifran and batsman Asad Shafiq in the hope of improving the side, and England will need to be weary of debutant Ifran, the 7 foot tall bowler will he high on confidence on his first start.

Shahid Afridi know’s his one day team will have to improve if they are to stand any chance of registering a victory over England and he hopes the influence of new players will have a positive impact on the dressing room.

The value in the market is the 7/4 for Pakistan to win just one of the five ODI’s. See the full England vs Pakistan ODI betting market here.
