QPR to continue winning habit as Millwall visit Loftus Road

Published:

QPR’s watertight defence at home and their fine recent record against Millwall should ensure that they continue to dominate proceedings in the Championship.

Neil Warnock’s team are six points clear at the head of the division with their away draw at Derby the only blip in their winning run.

They host Millwall next and will be keen to maintain their record of not having conceded a goal at Loftus Road in the league this season.

QPR are 4/7 to beat Millwall and they have not lost against their opposition in the last eight meetings, although this is their first showdown in five seasons.

However, Millwall have not lost three league games in succession since 2007 and are 5/1 to win and 11/4 to return home with a point.

Any slip up by QPR will allow Cardiff to bridge the gap at the top, assuming they win at home to Crystal Palace.

Both teams are without their chief goalscoring threats as Craig Bellamy and James Vaughan are ruled out, but Vaughan’s loss for Palace could be especially problematic as they are still to score away from home.

Cardiff are 8/15 to gain a fourth straight league win, which would also extend their unbeaten home record to 12 games.

Nottingham Forest are another of the favourites to win the Championship this season at 11/1 and they are in need of victories to remain in distant contention with QPR.

They are 5/6 to beat Sheffield United in their next game, but they may have to improve upon their record of not having kept a clean sheet at the City Ground so far.

However, games involving Sheffield United have tended to be low scoring, as their eight fixtures have yielded just 14 goals.

They are 10/3 to beat Nottingham Forest and with all of their three wins under Gary Speed being 1-0, the 8/1 offered for a repeat could prove profitable.

QPR are 6/4 to win the Championship. See the complete Championship winners betting odds market.
