Shrewsbury vs Rotherham – Rotherham face taxing away test

| 04.09.2010

Shrewsbury’s good start is tribute to their new manager Graham Turner according to full-back Dave Raven.

“I’ve worked under many coaches, but he’s what I’d call a proper manager who has the respect of the dressing room,” said Raven, “You can’t argue with his experience – I can’t believe he’s 62 – and he’s out there on the training ground and he doesn’t miss a trick.”

The Shrews lie second in the table after three wins and a draw from their opening four games and Raven believes the unity in the new-look squad can push for the title come the end of the season – Shrewsbury are 10/1 to win League Two.

Promotion favourites at the start of the season, Rotherham have also started the season well and in Adam Le Fondre they have a striker who has already notched six goals and is 11/4 to top the scoring charts.

Le Fondre’s 27 league goals helped Rotherham to a playoff place this season and the Millers fans will be hoping he can find the net against Shrewsbury as they look to close the gap on Torquay.

Rotherham won 50% of their away games last year and will need to continue that form if they are to challenge for the title, they are 6/1.

However Shrewsbury are unbeaten against the Millers on the last five occasions and Rotherham have failed to score in their last four trips to the Shrews, leaving the 5/4 offered for Shrewsbury to win very tempting.

Expect a tight game with the Shrews averaging just 1.46 goals against Rotherham – the total goals to remain odd market is 9/10.

Rotherham are 21/10 to win but will need Adam Le Fondre to keep firing. See the full Shrewsbury vs Rotherham betting market here.
