Southampton perfect opponents to help Owls remember how to win

Sheffield Wednesday will be keen to put to bed a three-game losing streak and move back up the League One table with a win over underachieving Southampton.

The Owls made a strong start to the season to sit on top of League One, but defeats to Brentford, Carlisle and Plymouth have seen them slip four points adrift of leaders Huddersfield.

Sheffield Wednesday are 6/5 to beat Southampton and bounce back to winning ways and have scored seven goals without conceding in their last two fixtures against the opposition at Hillsborough.

Southampton’s only win of the season came on the road, although they are still waiting to score their first goal for new manager Nigel Adkins in what will be his third game in charge.

Peterborough have won all of their three home games in League One this season and put this record on the line against another of the division’s form teams in the MK Dons.

Both sit on 13 points in the table, but Peterborough are 4/5 to beat MK Dons and continue to keep the pressure on Huddersfield.

The Dons left London Road with a goalless draw last season and a repeat is priced at 9/1 in the League One betting odds.

Colchester also feature near the top of the table and this is despite failing to win any of their three home games.

However, they can change this by beating Tranmere, which is priced at 8/11.

Tranmere have drawn two of their three fixtures on their travels, while both games between the pair last season ended 1-1.

The draw is available at 5/2, with it being 11/2 that a third successive 1-1 result materialises.

Sheffield Wednesday are still 4/1 to win League One despite their poor recent form. See the whole League One winners betting odds market.
