Wozniacki out for revenge against Arn in WTA Tokyo event

Published:

Caroline Wozniacki will be looking to secure a first career victory over Greta Arn when the pair meet in the second round of the WTA Toray Pan Pacific Open.

The experienced Hungarian, who dumped out young English prospect Laura Robson in the opening round, beat Wozniacki on the clay courts of the Estoril Open in three sets back in 2007, but a lot has changed since.

Wozniacki has won 17 singles titles and reached the final of the US Open, while Arn has fallen to number 106 in the world rankings.

The Dane, who is the number one seed and received a bye in the first round, is 1/25 to beat Arn, while it is 1/6 that she seals her progression in straight sets.

Meanwhile, it is 14/1 that Arn completes a big shock and repeats her victory from 2007 by winning 2-1 in sets.

Also in second round action in Flavia Pennetta, who is bidding to secure a fourth straight victory over Maria Kirilenko.

Pennetta holds a slender edge having won three of the five meetings against Kirilenko and has been especially dominant in their previous encounters on hard courts.

She has won in three of the four clashes on the surface, including earlier this year in San Diego.

Pennetta is 2/5 to beat Kirilenko again, while the Russian is 7/4 to land victory for the first time since 2007.

Pennetta has also won the last three meetings in straight sets and a repeat is 11/10.

Caroline Wozniacki also reached the semi finals of the US Open this year. See the full Wozniacki vs Greta Arn WTA Toray Pan Pacific Open betting odds market.
