Brighton face big League One test at free-scoring Peterborough
Brighton may feel that a trip to Peterborough will be one of their toughest League One games of the season, but history suggests that they are likely to avoid defeat.
Gus Poyet’s men are six points clear at the head of League One, with Peterborough one of the leading teams in pursuit as they lie third on goal difference.
Brighton head into the clash on a two-game winning run and they are 15/8 to beat Peterborough to extend this sequence.
In their favour is that they have not lost their last seven away games against Peterborough, which extends back to 1996.
However, stopping Peterborough scoring may prove a big ask as the home side have managed 21 goals in their six games at London Road.
This could make them a good bet at 11/8 to beat Brighton and move to within three points of the top of the table.
Another game that could have a bearing on which teams are promoted from League One is Charlton’s home clash with Sheffield Wednesday.
Goals have been the problem at home for Charlton as they have only managed six goals from as many games.
But they are 7/5 to beat Sheffield Wednesday, who themselves have got their promotion quest back on track with a five-game unbeaten streak.
This has helped them climb back into fourth in the League One table and they are 9/5 to win at Charlton.
Elsewhere, Yeovil host Swindon, with both teams struggling for consistency.
Swindon scored four times in their last away games and still lost, but are 8/5 to leave Yeovil with the three points.
Yeovil have lost their last two League One games and are also 8/5 to beat Swindon, with the draw available at 12/5.
