Holloway sits in the stands for Blackpool’s clash with Man City
Blackpool’s clash with Manchester City on Saturday will be only the third league match in Bloomfield Road’s short Premier League history.
And whilst Blackpool’s away form has been impressive this season, they are yet to win in the two games they’ve played in front of their home fans and manager Ian Holloway knows home wins are the key to staying in the division – Blackpool are 9/2 to beat Man City.
However Holloway has a lot of work to do with his players on the training ground this week, as he will have to watch his Blackpool side from the stands on Saturday after he was found guilty of improper conduct towards officials.
Holloway admitted swearing at referee Mike Dean after Blackpool’s 2-1 defeat to Blackburn and called the man in black “useless”, after Brett Emerton’s late winner was allowed to stand.
His outburst has cost him £9,500 and the one match ban, and Manchester City will be hoping to take advantage of a Blackpool side that won’t be able to rely on their manager.
Manchester City are 8/15 to beat Blackpool but will have to be weary of a side that shocked Liverpool at Anfield in their previous game and have kept clean sheets against Wigan and Newcastle.
Bloomfield Road will be full to the brim when the millions of pounds worth of talent in Manchester City’s squad make the trip to Blackpool, and the atmosphere is sure to be electric as the first of the top teams travel to town.
A win for the Tangerines would surely convince everyone that they are worthy of a place in the Premier League, and the 1/2 available for Blackpool to be relegated would most definitely shorten.
Wigan are also odds on at 10/11 to be relegated to the Championship. See the full Barclays Premier League Football betting odds market here.
