Moldova vs Holland – Spurs form sees Van der Vaart earn start
Published:Holland coach Bert Van Marwijk take his highly fancied side to Moldova on Friday, but injuries to key players means Moldova have as good a chance as any to win.
Van Marwijk is missing key forwards in Arjen Robben and Robin Van Persie as well as midfielders Theo Janssen and Hedwiges Maduro.
And whilst Van Marwijk’s decision to drop Nigel De Jong has attracted acclaim from the Dutch media, it could hold a big bearing on this match.

The World Cup finalists are 1/5 to win the match and rightly so after gaining maximum points from their first two games, but Moldova are high in confidence after beating Finland at home in their opening qualifier.
A defeat in their following game away to Hungary has dented that confidence a little but the Moldovan crowd will turn the Zimbru Stadium into a hostile atmosphere and Gavril Balint’s side may be hopeful of snatching a point.
Moldova are 11/2 to gain the point and 12/1 to beat Holland.

The last time these two sides met was in 2003 and despite Holland trouncing Moldova 5-0 at home, they could only sneak a 2-1 victory in Chisinau and it’s 8/1 for the same result to happen on Friday.
Moldova’s last qualifier with Hungary also finished 2-1 with all three goals coming in the second half, and you can get 7/2 that the half time result is a draw with Holland winning in full time.
Holland are missing a key defender in Vernon Anita and Finland proved in their 2-1 defeat to Holland that their defence is penetrable and Moldova will fancy their chances of scoring.
