Stoke City vs Blackburn Rovers – Don’t expect too many goals

| 01.10.2010

Just one point separate Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers after six games of the Premier League season and the clash at the Britannia Staidum isn’t likely to feature high up on Match of the Day’s running order.

Match Odds

Like West Ham, Stoke have enjoyed a mini-revival in the past few Premier League matches after not picking up a point from their first three games and they are 5/4 to beat Blackburn on Saturday.

They will have to do it without Andy Wilkinson and Jermaine Pennant although Ricardo Fuller could play some part in the match despite dislocating his shoulder in last weekend’s win at Newcastle.

Stoke came from behind in that game and having conceded 89% of their goals in the first half of games this season, Stoke are priced at 10/1 to come from behind and win.

Blackburn are without David Dunn and Vince Grella but Sam Allardyce could hand returns to Keith Andrews and Jason Roberts in his search for goals.

Blackburn haven’t scored in their last three games against Stoke and are 9/4, the same price as a draw, to beat Stoke on Saturday.

Total Goals

Stoke have failed to score in four of their last six games with Blackburn and its 8/1 for a 0-0 draw and 2/1 for there to be under 1.5 goals in the game.

Kenwyne Jones is Stoke’s top scorer with three goals in the Premier League and he averages a shot every 21 minutes, and is 11/10 to score anytime.

Blackburn have conceded four times in three away games this season whilst Stoke have scored four times in three home games and it’s tough to see both sides being involved in a goal fest.

Stoke are 7/4 to keep a clean sheet. See the full Stoke City vs Blackburn Rovers football match betting odds market here.
