Table-toppers Lazio not a big enough club for defender Radu

Published:

The agent of Stefan Radu clearly has no faith in Lazio retaining their position at the head of the Serie A table as he feels the club are not big enough for his client.

Radu has started every Serie A game for Lazio this season and has been part of a solid unit that has only conceded five goals in the opening seven fixtures.

This tight defence has helped Lazio sit two points clear at the top of the league standings and has resulted in their price falling to 28/1 to win Serie A this season.

However, agent Victor Becali is optimistic that Radu has served his apprenticeship in Italy and has the talent to move on to some of the country’s bigger names.

He told TMW: “Radu is 24 years old and is playing good football. He’s been in Italy for almost three years and I think he is ready for a big club like Juventus, or Milan or Inter.

“He played well last term and is doing really well so far in this campaign.”

Radu offers Lazio some strong versatility as although he has performed well at full-back during the current campaign, he is also equally at home at the heart of the defence.

A fine reading of the game and the quality possessed by his left foot have been instantly noticeable in Lazio’s start and this could leave a gaping hole in their team if he should leave.

He is sure to start again in their next Serie A outing at home to Cagliari and coach Edoardo Reja will be confident that they can collect another three points as the visitors are still waiting for their first victory on their travels.

Inter and AC Milan are both two points behind Lazio and are 1/1 and 7/4 respectively to win Serie A this season. See the full Serie A winners betting odds market.
