Nottingham Forest have pulled off the most significant deal of the loan transfer deadline day by bagging Arsenal starlet Aaron Ramsey.

Forest – who are 23/10 to beat Leicester City on Monday night – swooped for the Welsh international who has recently returned to fittness following a leg break against Stoke last season.

Forest Boss Billy Davies admits he was somewhat surprised to land to talented 19-year-old – especially considering Arsenal’s mounting injury list that includes captain Cesc Fabregas.

Davies said: “It’s just nice to get a player of such quality in from Arsenal.

“What you sometimes have to do is go with a flyer and try to find out the availability of people and ask questions of friends and friends of friends.

“You don’t suppose you sometimes have hope but if you don’t buy a ticket you don’t stand a chance of winning the lottery.

“We thought we’d try a flyer, ask some questions and before we knew it there was a slight possibility of getting him and then all of sudden we’re delighted.

“Everybody at the club is very, very pleased with the fact that an excellent footballer coming to the club.”

Forest also added Sheffield Wednesday’s Marcus Tudgay to their squad with a view to making the switch permenant in January.

With the addition of two class players, combined with Forest’s brilliant 2-0 away win against promotion chasing Cardiff City at the weekend, means Davies’ side are looking very tempting at 23/10 to win at the Walker’s Stadium this Monday.
