Totti suspended as Roma hope to derail neighbours Lazio

An absent Francesco Totti may ensure that Lazio have the necessary advantage to maintain their strong start to the season and defeat Roma.

Claudio Ranieri’s team won both Rome derbies last season on their way to finishing second in Serie A, but they have failed to reproduce the same form during the current campaign.

Roma are 2/1 to win against Lazio, despite picking up just one point from their four games on the road.

Meanwhile, Roma lost the only game this season that they had to take to the field without Francesco Totti, who is suspended for game with Lazio.

Lazio currently top Serie A after winning seven of their opening nine games of the season.

They are 11/8 to beat Roma and seal a seventh successive victory in all competitions.

If Lazio slip up and lose to Roma, Inter Milan will surely take advantage and close their deficit at the head of the Serie A standings to a single point.

Inter are in action at home to Brescia and are 1/4 to collect the three points.

Brescia have only beaten Inter four times in their 42 career meetings in the Italian top flight, while they have lost four of their five away games during the present campaign.

Giuseppe Iachini’s team have lost five of their last six games by a single goal, but are 11/1 to spring a shock and beat Inter.

Palermo host Genoa in the other televised Serie A game, with both teams currently sitting side by side in mid-table.

The home side are on a poor run of four straight defeats in all competitions and have won just one of their five Serie A games at the Stadio Renzo Barbera so far.

Palermo are 1/1 to beat Genoa, while the visitors are 3/1 to triumph.
