Bolton threatening the top four after brilliant Blackburn win

| 13.12.2010

Bolton boss Owen Coyle has praised his side’s team spirit following their 2-1 win against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday – but is convinced the best is yet to come.

The Trotters were reduced to ten-men following the sending off of Mark Davies but still managed to take all three points thanks to Stuart Holden’s dramatic late winner.

Bolton are now sixth in the league and are just one point behind Tottenham Hotspur in fifth and five adrift of Chelsea in fourth.

But despite a brilliant run that has seen them lose just two of their last 12 games, Coyle is confident this is just the start of things for the Greater Manchester side.

He said: “We’re nowhere near where I’d like us to eventually be. It’s a work in progress but it’s one we’re enjoying.

“I think we have some terrific individual players but our strength is as a group. Every one of them put their shoulders to the wheel to help their team-mates.

“We enjoy each other’s company, we enjoy working hard and that’s the key to any games we win – we work our socks off.

“We have a group of players who are buying in to what we’re asking, the demands we place on them and as long as they keep coming up with the goods I’ll be delighted.”

The Trotters face a tough away trip to Sunderland next weekend, although after the Black Cats turgid 0-0 draw against Fulham on Saturday, Coyle’s men should have nothing to fear as they look to turn up the heat on the teams above them.
