Bolton v West Brom – Trotters to get back to winning ways

| 24.12.2010

This Boxing Day clash promises to be a cracker, as two Premier League minnows who show you can pick up points with attacking football take to the field.

Following their promotion, West Brom are comfortably in mid-table following brilliant early season form. They may have faltered somewhat in recent weeks, but they have still had enough to see off Everton and Newcastle United, scoring seven goals in the process.

However, their attempts to climb further away from the relegation zone and guarantee Premier League football next season should be halted by Bolton, who are 10/11 to win their fourth home game in five.

The Trotters’ game against Sunderland was one of only three Premier League games to survive the weather last weekend and Owen Coyle will be lamenting the Black Cats’ ability to get the game on after they slumped to a 1-0 defeat.

That defeat against a Sunderland side who are now sixth in the league – level with points on Spurs – will not concern Coyle too much though and he will expect his side to pick up all three points in this clash.

With just one defeat in their last 12 games at the Reebok, it’s hard to see West Brom – who have won just one away game since their return to the Premier League – getting anything out of this game. Back Bolton to win this one at 10/11.
