Elmander vows to stay with Bolton for the rest of the season

Johan Elmander may still represent a suitable bet at 20/1 to be the Premier League’s top scorer this season after stating that he will definitely be seeing out the campaign at Bolton.

Elmander has already scored eight goals this season, which puts him three behind Manchester United’s Dimitar Berbatov, and this form has seen him become a target of some of the Premier League’s bigger clubs.

Liverpool have seen their name linked to a possible deal in the January transfer window, particularly as the Swedish striker has not decided where his future lies.

Elmander’s current deal expires at the end of next season and he is yet to commit his future to Bolton.

However, he has stated his intention to see out the remainder of this season before deciding what lies next.

He told the Bolton News: “I will give myself fully to Bolton while I am here and when my contract runs out in the summer, we’ll see what happens.”

Bolton’s next Premier League game is at home to Blackburn and Elmander will be keen to continue his scoring run.

The Premier League betting odds have Elmander as the 5/1 joint favourite to be the game’s first goalscorer, while he can be backed at 6/4 to find the target at any time within the 90 minutes.

Bolton will be banking on Elmander’s goals if they are to beat Blackburn as they have not managed to score in either of their last two home meetings with the opposition.

Meanwhile, Bolton have not won any of their last seven games against Blackburn, but are 11/10 to secure the three points this season.

Blackburn’s betting odds are 5/2 to beat Bolton, with the draw at 23/10.

A £10 bet on the scorecast of Elmander scoring first and Bolton beating Blackburn 3-1 could lead to a return of £500. New Ladbrokes customers can sign up here for a free £10 bet.
