Ipswich vs Leicester – Hosts have lost their last six games

Published:

Ipswich know that a home victory against Leicester is essential if they want to end a miserable run of form and potentially avoid relegation from the Championship this season.

Match Odds

After starting the campaign promisingly to sit in the play-off places, Ipswich have fallen alarmingly down the table after suffering six straight league defeats.

Manager Roy Keane may be well aware that the last Championship side to lose seven games on the trot was Plymouth during the last campaign and they ended up being relegated to League One.

Ipswich have already lost five games at home this season, but are 15/8 to turn around their woeful form and beat Leicester.

They may not have too many troubles finding the target as no Championship side has conceded more away goals in the league this season than Leicester, who have shipped 25 goals in their ten games on their travels.

Leicester have won five of their last eight league games to climb the table under Sven-Goran Eriksson and are 7/5 to take the three points from Ipswich.

Both games between the pair last season finished all square and it is 23/10 that the first showdown between the pair during the current campaign ends in a draw.

First Goalscorer

Paul Gallagher has been especially prolific for Leicester of late with three goals in his last two league games and he is 6/1 in the Championship betting market to open the scoring against Ipswich.

Jason Scotland may be Ipswich’s chief goal threat in the absence of Connor Wickham, who may be forced to miss out with a hip injury, and he is 7/1 to strike first.

Wickham is also 7/1 in this betting market should he overcome a late fitness test.

A £10 bet on Leicester beating Ipswich 2-1 could result in a payout of £80. New Ladbrokes customers can sign up here for a free £10 bet.
