Man Utd v Valencia – Fergie’s men will finish top with win
Manchester United will be one of the few sides in the country to be delighted with the weather over the past week.
Their game at Blackpool fell foul of the freezing temperatures giving Sir Alex Ferguson’s men a week to prepare for this clash that they are 4/6 favourites to win.
United have yet to hit top gear in the Champions League this term, but their formidable defensive record – they haven’t conceded a single goal – means they have already qualified for the knockout stage with a game to spare.
Despite their progression already being guaranteed, United will be determined to win the group. Their cause will be helped by injuries to Valencia’s first and second choice goalkeepers, meaning the Spanish side must field the inexperienced Vicente Guaita between the sticks.
United – who scored seven against Blackburn in their last home game – should be able to capitalise on their relative shakiness at the back, so backing a win for the home side at 4/6 looks to be well worth a bet, as does putting some cash on another clean sheet for United at 5/4.
Bursaspor v Rangers
With neither side able to qualify for the second round, there is little to get excited about in this game. Rangers have already guaranteed third spot and therefore a Europa Aleague berth, so it’s only pride at stake in Turkey.
With Bursapor looking to get just their second goal of the competition after five straight defeats, and Rangers not winning in their last eight Champions League away games, this looks set to be a rather turgid affair.
Back a draw at 12/5 and under 2.5 goals at 8/13.
