Milan, Roma and Lazio bosses all confident of Serie A success

Confidence is building among many of the Serie A clubs as the Italian season moves into the winter break, with AC Milan still retaining a three-point lead at the head of the standings.

Milan’s betting odds are 4/5 to win the Serie A title despite their 1-0 defeat at home to Roma, which has seen their lead trimmed to three points.

Despite this setback, coach Massimiliano Allegri is still confident on what his team can achieve and pleased with how their season has panned out so far.

He said: “We must remain content with our haul so far this term. We are closing the year on top of the standings and I can’t really ask for more from my men.”

However, when the season kicks off again, Milan must contend without the services of Andrea Pirlo, who picked up a thigh strain in the Roma defeat which is expected to sideline him for a month.

Roma’s victory has also boosted the confidence of manager of Claudio Ranieri, who believes his side should not be written off as title challengers.

A poor start to the campaign saw Roma struggling towards the foot of the table, but last season’s runners up have won six of their last eight league games to move within seven points of top spot.

They are now 9/1 in the Serie A betting odds to win the title and should not be ruled out.

Lazio are one of the more surprise contenders for the title and have steadily been grinding out results to remain in contention.

They are three points behind Milan and still 14/1 to win Serie A.

Boss Edy Reja insists that his team will remain consistent and will continue to take advantage of any stumbles from their more high-profile title challengers.
