Atletico a massive 6/1 in the betting to beat Real Madrid

If rumours from Spain are to be believed, then the Real Madrid hierarchy are none too happy with Jose Mourinho and his constant need to be in the limelight.

He looks set to make headlines for all the right reasons this week though, with Real 1/3 favourites to beat Atletico in the Copa del Ray. However, with tonight’s clash at the Bernabeu being the first of a two-legged quarter-final, there is a very real chance that Atletico can come out of the game with something to hold on to in the second-leg.

Atletico may not have beaten their neighbours since 1999 – a run of 18 games without a victory – but they have a far better record at the Bernabeu than on home soil. They have visited the stadium nine times during that winless run, but have picked up four draws in that period.

With this being the first-leg, Atletico will be determined to keep the tie alive and try to stifle Real, so backing another draw at 10/3 could certainly be worth a bet – especially if you take advantage of a free £25 bet from Ladbrokes.

However, if you want to play things a bit safer with your free bet, then you can back Real at 1/3.

Mourinho’s men have only failed to win one of their last eight games and that was a 2-0 defeat for their second string against Levante in the last round of the cup – they were 8-0 up from the first-leg.

They won their last game 4-2 against third-placed Villarreal thanks to a Kaka strike and a hat-trick for Cristiano Ronaldo.
With Atletico losing their previous game 4-1 against the hardly impressive Hércules , Real look good to continue their fine run of form.

A £25 bet on Real to win 3-1 could see a return of £250. New Ladbrokes customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
