Bet on Arsenal v Wigan – Latics to be gunned down

| 22.01.2011

Arsenal’s pursuit of silverware continues against Wigan this weekend and they should have more than enough to make sure they don’t lose any more ground on Manchester United.

There seems to be a greater ruthlessness around the Gunners this season and they are huge favourites at 1/5 to come out on top against Wigan this weekend.

However, it’s their away form that has seen the Gunners keep pace at the top of the table. The Gunners have the best away record in the league while they have already suffered losses to Newcastle and West Brom at the Emirates this term.

With Wigan boasting a very decent away record – they haven’t lost in their last four on the road – this looks like it should be a close game.

Unfortunately for Roberto Mancini, none of those games were against opposition who are anything approaching the calibre of Arsenal.

The Latics saw off Wolves and Hull during that run, but could only manage a goalless draw against a toothless Everton and a 1-1 draw with Bolton.

Arsene Wenger’s side have showed repeatedly this season that they are a far more effective unit than in previous years and shouldn’t give Wigan a sniff of even picking up a point.

Backing Arsenal for the straight win at 1/5 may not be the most enticing of bets, but there are plenty of other markets to take advantage of with a free bet worth £25.

Arsenal have only kept two clean sheets in their previous nine home games, so backing Wigan to find the net once by backing them to score over 0.5 goals at 11/10 looks very tempting.

If you fancy some even longer odds, you can stick your cash on the Gunners winning 3-1 at 10/1.

A £25 stake on Arsenal to win 4-2 would return £1,675! New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
