Bet on goals rather than win in Barcelona versus Deportivo

| 08.01.2011

Barcelona have won their last ten La Liga away games and the football betting odds suggest that this winning streak is likely to continue at Deportivo, despite the hosts being in reasonable form themselves.

Pep Guardiola’s team are 1/5 to beat Deportivo and have lost just one of their last 13 games with the opposition.

Goals should also prove no problem for Barcelona as they have scored a minimum of three times in each of their last four away games in La Liga.

Furthermore, they have scored 12 goals in their last four league meetings with Deportivo.

It is 11/8 in the La Liga betting that over 3.5 goals are scored, while Pedro is the form pick to strike first at 10/3 having netted eight times in his last eight Barcelona games.

Deportivo have won five of their last nine in La Liga, which could make them overpriced at 14/1 to beat Barcelona, particularly as they have only lost once at home this season.

Real Sociedad will have to tighten up in defence and keep Frederic Kanoute quiet if they want to take a result from their home clash with Sevilla.

Sociedad are on a three-game losing run and have conceded in both halves in each of these fixtures.

On the other side, Sevilla have won their last three games and represent good value at 5/4 to beat Sociedad, who are 2/1 to secure the three points.

Kanoute, who has scored all of Sevilla’s last three league goals, is 5/1 to break the deadlock, but the best value may be that Sevilla are leading at both half time and full time, which can be backed at 10/3.

A £10 bet on David Villa scoring first and Barcelona winning 4-1 could see a return of £330. New Ladbrokes customers can sign up here for a free £10 bet.
