Real Madrid v Mallorca – Jose’s men to keep pressure on Barca

| 23.01.2011

Things aren’t going quite to plan for Jose Mourinho and Real Madrid at the moment.

Despite having more points at this stage than at any time in the club’s history – a total they should comfortably add to against Mallorca this evening – there are constant rumours of tension.

Kaka has openly criticised striker Karim Benzema and this week Mourinho has refused to commit himself to the club beyond the end of the season after rumours of a rift between him and sporting director Jorge Valdano.

However, on the pitch it’s a different matter. Real are huge favourites in the La Liga betting market at 1/6 to win – and it’s easy to see why.

Real have not dropped a point at home all season and have only conceded five goals in their nine games at the Bernabéu while scoring 30 themselves. Despite that brilliant record, they are still seven points behind Barcelona at the top of the table, so winning this game in hand is crucial.

Backing Real to win this 3-0 at 6/1 looks to be well worth a bet.

Villarreal v Real Sociedad

The other televised La Liga game sees fourth placed Villarreal take on 11th placed Real Sociedad.

The Yellow Submarines have not lost at home all season, dropping only two points in the process.

Backing them to win this at 1/2 still offers plenty of value.

A £25 stake on Real Madrid to win 1-0 would return £200. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
