Hercules vs Atletico Madrid – Trezeguet to shoot down visitors

| 10.01.2011

David Trezeguet has been in scintillating scoring form at home for Hercules this season in La Liga and this makes him a tempting bet at 11/2 to be the first goalscorer against Atletico Madrid.

First Scorer

Trezeguet has featured in seven of Hercules’s eight league games at the Jose Rico Perez and has found the target eight times.

Hercules will be relying on Trezeguet to continue this run if they harbour hopes of taking the three points, bearing in mind they have been struggling for goals of late.

Esteban Vigo’s team have been goal-shy in five of their last eight La Liga games, while they have only scored in two of their last nine encounters with Atletico Madrid in the Spanish top flight.

For the visitors, Sergio Aguero is set to make his first appearance since signing a new contract with Atletico Madrid and can be backed at 4/1 to celebrate this with the opening goal.

Match Odds

Hercules have won their last three games at home and it has been this form that has prevented them slumping into the relegation places.

They are 2/1 in the football odds to make it four wins in succession by beating Atletico, who themselves will be searching for a victory to remain on the periphery of the Champions League qualification places.

Atletico have won 12 of their last 14 games against Hercules in the Spanish top flight, drawing the other two, and are 11/8 to take another three points this season.

Other factors in Atletico’s favour are that they come into the game having kept three successive clean sheets in the league and are unbeaten in their last three away games in all competitions.

A £10 bet on the scorecast of Trezeguet scoring first and Hercules winning 1-0 could see a return of £300. New Ladbrokes customers can sign up here for a free £10 bet.
