As he looks set to take a non-executive role at the club the bookies have priced up his future career options and make it the 2/1 favourite that he fronts up a BBC programme.
It’s 5/1 he resigns from politics all together.
Should he stay it’s 10/1 he joins the shadow cabinet and 33/1 he becomes the ambassador to the US.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “It seems like television will be his next step. Should he get a taste for football on Wearside and subsequently gets his badges we’d have a huge payout on our hands.”
