Big Sam gamble for West Brom job

| 07.02.2011

Sam Allardyce’s odds of taking over at West Brom have been slashed by Ladbrokes.

Having been introduced to the market as a 10/1 chance on Sunday afternoon his odds have quickly been cut to 5/2 as his name is one of many linked with the vacancy.

Chris Hughton remains the 6/4 favourite with current caretaker manager Michael Appleton a 7/1 chance.

West Brom also just 13/8 to be relegated this season.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “The market is barely 24 hours old and Allardyce is the only man the punters want to be with so far.”

Ladbrokes latest betting:
Chris Hughton – 6/4
Sam Allardyce – 5/2 (from 10/1)
Derek McInnes – 4/1
Sean O’Driscoll – 6/1
Martin O’Neill – 6/1
Martin Jol – 6/1
Michael Appleton – 7/1
Alan Curbishley – 7/1
Roy Hodgson – 10/1
Ray Wilkins – 16/1
Bryan Robson – 16/1
Diego Maradona – 25/1
Gary Megson – 25/1

West Bromwich Albion to be relegated this season – 13/8
