Captain Tindall leads the favourites in the Six Nations betting

Friday night is fast approaching and the opening game of the Six Nations doesn’t get much bigger than Wales vs England.

In what is sure to be an electrifying and impassioned Millennium Stadium atmosphere, Mike Tindall will lead England out for a game they are 4/7 to win.

England need to get off to a great start if they are to justify their 15/8 price to win the Six Nations, and Tindall will be hoping to spearhead a Grand Slam charge in which England are 9/2 to win.

Martin Johnson has handed a debut to Northampton flanker Tom Wood, while Louis Deacon and James Haskell will come in for the injured Tom Croft and Courtney Lawes.

Jonny Wilkinson will take his place on the bench as Toby Flood continues to keep hold of the number 10 jersey, and Flood is the 9/4 favourite to be the Six Nations top pointscorer.

Wales are on the drift in the Six Nations betting and are 11/8 to beat England despite being unbeaten in their last three encounters with the English at the Millennium Stadium.

An injury hit front row has handed the edge to England, but Paul James and Craig Mitchell will be out to prove they’re good enough and there’s no better motivation for a Welshman than coming up against an England team.

James Hook has been shifted to full-back – as a result Hook offers plenty of value at 33/1 to be the Six Nations top tryscorer – which means Lee Byrne takes his place on the bench and Jonathan Davies comes in to partner Jamie Roberts in the centre.

On the last two occasions Wales have won the Grand Slam, they have beaten England on the opening day of the Six Nations and Warren Gatland’s side are 16/1 to win the Grand Slam.

A £25 stake on Hook scoring the first try in the game would return £375. New customers can sign up here for a free bet worth £25.
