Odds-on favourite for every BAFTA

Published:

With the BAFTA’s less than one week away there is now an odds-on favourite in every category according to Ladbrokes.

Colin Firth is the shortest priced favourite at 1/50 for the Best Actor award with The King’s Speech 1/25 for the Best Film.

Despite David Fincher holding early favouritism for Best Director the weight of money for another King’s Speech nominee in the shape of David Hooper has pushed him to the head of the market at 4/9, leaving Fincher at 7/4.

Natalie Portman also appears to have her category sewn up as she is the 1/7 market leader in the ‘Best Supporting Actress’ category.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “From our perspective the BAFTA’s look done and dusted although there are some nominees certainly capable of causing an upset. We’re definitely cheering on anyone who goes head to head with the King’s Speech as we’ve built up massive liabilities on the film over time.”
