Soderling evens favourite as Tsonga looks for place in final

Robin Soderling looks on course to defend his 2010 ABN AMRO title with the ABN AMRO tournament betting market making the Swede the 1/1 favourite.

Jo-Wilifred Tsonga is the 11/4 second favourite to win on Sunday with Viktor Troicki, 7/2, and Ivan Ljubicic available at 13/2 ahead of this afternoon’s semi-finals.

Jo-Wilifred Tsonga vs Ivan Ljubicic

The first of today’s semi-finals is an intriguing tie as while Tsonga is the 1/2 favourite to beat Ljubicic, the Croat has beaten Tsonga on the past two occassions they’ve met.

Ljubicic looks excellent value at 6/4 to beat Tsonga, but can the Croat recover from his battle with Marcos Maghdatis in the quarter-final which went to a tiebreak in the third set.

Tsonga received a walkover from Tomas Berdych in his quarter-final and will be fresh for today’s match, but his form against Ljubicic is poor and the Croat can recover sufficiently in time to beat the world number 18.

Both of Ljubicic’s two previous wins have come in straight sets and he is 10/3 to win the match 2-0 and 9/4 to win the first set and win the match.

Robin Soderling vs Viktor Troicki

Troicki showed his class in his straight sets victory over Marin Cilic yesterday and in the first ever meeting between the two, the Serb definitely has the game to upset Soderling and is 2/1 to win

But Soderling is the strongly supported favourite to win this week and is the short 4/11 favourite to beat Troicki, and the Swede should have too much class for his world number 24 opponent.

Troicki is yet to drop a set on his way to the semi-final and Soderling was pushed all the way by Philipp Kohlschreiber in the second round and a tight match should be expected.

Soderling is 11/4 to win the match 2-1 but punters may want to take the 4/7 for Soderling to win the first set and the match.

A £25 stake on Soderling winning the tournament would return £50. New customers can sign up here for a free bet worth £25.
