Bet on Manchester United at evens to win the FA Cup

Manchester United’s comfortable victory in their FA Cup quarter-final against Arsenal showed once again that Sir Alex Ferguson’s side are the team to beat in this season’s competition.

United’s under strength team were never in any real danger against Arsene Wenger’s side who have now crashed out of three competitions in the past fortnight.

Fabio da Silva and Wayne Rooney’s goals were enough to put United into the semi-finals for the first time since 2009. They lost on penalties to Everton that day, but everything suggests that United should go all the way this year.

The odds certainly seem to reflect this, with United now big favourites for the competition at 1/1.

Of all the sides left in the competition, only bitter rivals Manchester City will give Ferguson and his men cause for concern.

However, despite all of City’s big spending in recent years, United still have a great record against them, losing just one of their last eight games against Roberto Mancini’s men – and that was their Carling Cup semi-final first leg last season, a tie they eventually went on to win.

And what now of Arsenal? The Gunners only have the Premier League to concentrate on and are currently priced at 15/8 to get one trophy from a season that promised so much a few weeks ago.

Arsenal have a game-in-hand over United and will pull level on points with them if they win that. It’s a pretty big ‘If’ given the Gunners’ current form, but 15/8 looks a pretty decent price with United still facing some tough games – including a trip to the Emirates.

Manchester United are currently at 1/1 to win the FA Cup. A £25 bet on that would provide a £25 profit. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
