Bet on Man Utd vs Bolton – Red Devils to overcome Bolton again

Published:

Manchester United fans may already be looking forward to their Champions League quarter-final with Chelsea, but Sir Alex Ferguson and his players have the more pressing matter of Bolton Wanderers this Saturday to attend to.

United are huge 4/11 favourites to win this clash despite their dreadful league form over recent weeks allowing Arsenal to close the gap at the top of the Premier League to three points.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s side have lost their previous two in the league against Chelsea and Liverpool, shipping five goals in the process. Thankfully for United, Bolton should be an entirely different proposition.

The Trotters have lost on their last seven trips to Old Trafford and haven’t won since a 1-0 victory back in 2002.

However, United will be missing a whole host of first team players, with Paul Scholes suspended and Nemanja Vidić, Rio Ferdinand and several others out injured.

Owen Coyle’s side have been in a brilliant run of form recently as well, and haven’t lost in their last six – winning five of them.

Manchester United should still have too much for Bolton – especially considering their brilliant form at Old Trafford this term – so it’s still worth backing them at 4/11.

It promises to be tighter than the history books suggest though, so backing under 2.5 goals – despite United’s shaky backline – at 6/5 looks to be well worth a bet.
