Spurs getting Klose to signing world class striker

Harry Redknapp seems to be constantly linked with new strikers and the latest is the canny signing of Bayern Munich’s Miroslav Klose.

Tottenham have been on the lookout for that one world class striker for virtually all of the current season, but have been frustrated in their attempts to sign Atletico Madrid duo Diego Forlan and Sergio Aguero and Sevilla’s Luis Fabiano.

The likes of Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe and Roman Pavyluchenko have done a fine job in helping Spurs reach the quarter finals of the Champions League, while they still have a realistic chance of finishing in the top four of the Premier League again.

However, it is still believed they need further firepower to move up to the next level and it can definitely be argued that Klose has the capabilities of providing this.

Klose has been frozen out at Bayern Munich this season thanks to the scoring exploits of Mario Gomez and his contract runs out in the summer.

There will be few, if any, better free agents on the market at the end of the season, with Klose still banging in the goals for fun when given a run out.

The 32-year-old scored four goals at last summer’s World Cup to help Germany reach the semi finals, while he helped himself to a double in Germany’s Euro 2012 qualifier win over Kazakhstan at the weekend.

Taking a punt on an experienced veteran is a strategy that has already paid dividends for Tottenham this season, with William Gallas proving a big hit.

Gallas signed on a free transfer ahead of the current campaign and his good form has now been rewarded with a further two-year deal, following his impressive performances alongside Michael Dawson at the heart of the defence.

A £20 stake on Tottenham winning the 2011/2012 Premier League title would return £400. New customers can sign up here to take advantage of free bets totalling up to £60.
