Bet on Reading vs Preston – In-form North End to push Royals

| 05.04.2011

Surprisingly for a team still very much rooted in the relegation zone, Preston North End have been in a rich vein of form.

North End have won their previous three games in the league and saw off promotion chasing Swansea City 2-1 at the weekend. Despite this hat-trick of wins though, Phil Brown’s side are still eight points away from safety.

Meanwhile, Reading have entered the automatic promotion places on goal difference after Nottingham Forest were stuffed 4-1 by Leeds United at the weekend.

The Royals have not lost in the league since their defeat to Norwich in February and have won their latest four games, giving them the best record in the Championship over the previous six matches.

With two teams playing their best football of the season, this promises to be a cracking game, but it’s still hard to see beyond a win for Reading.

Preston have the fourth worst away record in the division and haven’t beaten Reading at the Madejski Stadium since an FA Cup tie in 2004.

With Preston only winning once away from home against top-half opposition this season, Reading should have more than enough to record another victory and cement their spot in the play-off places.

Reading’s odds of 8/15 may not be the largest you’ll come across, but it’s still well worth taking on. The Royals look very much like ending Preston’s winning streak – especially when you consider the fact that they boast the fifth best attack in the league.

A £20 stake on Reading to win 2-0 would return £120. New customers can sign up here for up to £60 in free bets.
