Stosur set for Stuttgart success against Martinez Sanchez

Published:

Australian Sam Stosur will admit clay isn’t her favoured surface but she seems a huge price at 4/7 to win her opening round match with Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez.

The two players have met three times before but it’s Stosur’s most recent victory on the clay courts of Madrid last year that is the greatest form guide for this match.

In front of her opponent’s home crowd, Stosur dominated Martinez Sanchez in straight sets and the Australian can do so again today.

Martinez Sanchez won a clay court tournament in Rome last year but exited this tournament in the second round and was dumped out of the 2010 French Open in the first round.

Stosur is ranked 26 places higher than her opponent and the 4/7 seems makes the Australian the best value in today’s Porsche Grand Prix betting.

Dominika Cibulkova vs Sabine Lisicki

Having beaten Marion Bartoli earlier in the month, Sabine Lisicki will be high in confidence as she enters her first round match with Dominika Cibulkova and we’re predicting a first round upset.

Cibulkova is the 2/5 favourite but her clay court form isn’t brilliant and while she faces a qualifier in Lisicki, the Slovakian world number 27 has a fight on her hands.

Lisicki is 7/4 to beat Ciibulkova and after witnessing qualifier Kristina Barrios win yesterday – we also tipped her – we can see another qualifier upset the Porsche Grand Prix odds today.

A £10 stake on Lisicki beating Cibulkova would return £27.50. New customers can sign up here to receive a free tennis bet worth up to £30.
