French Open: Nadal rejuvenated after Djokovic disappointment

It’s been a disappointing few weeks for the Spaniard who has made it to the final in two tournaments, only to be defeated twice by the rampant Novak Djokovic.
However, his straight sets defeat against the Serb in Rome last week has prompted the tireless Nadal to spend a few days relaxing and getting himself in the right frame of mind for the defence of his title on his favourite surface
“I stopped a few days. I played some golf. I have been visiting the family. Since Indian Wells it has been a very busy schedule for me. I just tried to be close to friends, my people, for a few days.”
His rest and relaxation looks set to continue for a few days yet as he has a straightforward first round match against John Isner. Nadal is 1/100 to win that match and should have no problem seeing off the American.
It’s important the Spaniard takes advantage of his relatively easy early rounds and sweeps through with the minimum amount of fuss.
Nadal and Isner have met twice before with the world No.1 winning both matches and their last match – on clay – in straight sets.
Backing Nadal to win his first match in straight sets at 1/6 looks like the best way to profit from what should be a straightforward win for the Spaniard.
