Liverpool vs Tottenham – Reds can take one step closer to Europe

| 14.05.2011

Having signed a new contract in midweek, Kenny Dalglish can endear himself to the Liverpool fans further by snatching the final Europa League spot from Tottenham Hotspur.

Since knocking AC Milan out of the Champions League, Harry Redknapp has watched his Spurs side collapse and Liverpool can take full advantage on Sunday.

Match Odds

Since Redknapp took over at White Hart Lane, all six meetings between these two sides have ended in a home win and Liverpool are 8/11 to take all three points.

Spurs have an awful record at Anfield in the Premier League with no wins from 16 attempts and punters should stay away from the 7/2 to win.

Under Dalglish Liverpool have been reborn and a win today would cap the season for the Reds.

It’s difficult to see anything other than three points for Dalglish’s side and Redknapp faces a tough task rebuilding his Spurs side for a challenge next season.

Total Goals

Kenny Dalglish may consider resting Jamie Carragher for Liverpool’s most important game this season considering he’s scored as many goals for Spurs as he has for Liverpool.

Dirk Kuty and Maxi Rodriguez are in fine scoring form for the Reds and both are 5/1 and 7/1 respectively to get the first goal.

Spurs are yet to score against Liverpool in the Premier League before the 44th minute so punters should take full advantage of the 13/8 for Liverpool to be leading at half-time and at full-time.

A 2-0 victory looks the most likely for this Liverpool side and is priced at 7/1.

A £10 stake on Dirk Kuyt scoring first and Liverpool winning 2-0 would return £290. New customers can sign up here to take advantage of a free bet worth up to £30.
