Moore to skip Singapore trip to ride So You Think at the Curragh
Workforce may be avoiding him but Ryan Moore is missing a trip to Singapore in order to ride Aiden O’Brien’s So You Think in the Tatterstalls Gold Cup on Sunday.
So You Think is the 2/7 favourite to land the big race at the Curragh, and Aiden O’Brien’s five-year-old is a frightening prospect for any opponent this season.
So much so that the connections of Workforce, last season’s star of the flat season, have decided against taking on So You Think on Saturday in favour of easing their star back into the season at Sandown.
Ryan Moore will take the ride on So You Think for the first time and the jockey is so excited about the ride that he has given up his ride on Presvis in Sunday’s Singapore Airlines International Cup.
Richard Hughes will now take the ride on the 3/1 favourite in Singapore, but the eyes of the racing world will be on Moore and So You Think at 3.10pm on Sunday afternoon.
Bred in New Zealand, victories in the 2009 and 2010 Cox Stakes brought So You Think to the attention of the world’s media and Coolmore Stud paid a reported Aus$25m for a stake in the horse following his third place in the 2010 Melbourne Cup.
So You Think made his European debut at the Curragh earlier this month and justified his 2/13 SP with a 10-length victory.
Expected to take on Workforce in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot, punters will be eager to see So You Think in action for a second time and you can guarantee plenty of money on the 2/7 favourite on Sunday.
A five-time Group One winner in Australia, So You Think will be expected to ease past his nine rivals in Sunday’s Tatterstalls Gold Cup.
A £10 stake on Presvis winning the Singapore Airlines International Cup on Sunday would return £40. Sign up here to take advantage of a free bet worth up to £30.
