Some say Huhne may now stick around
Published:Chris Huhne is expected to remain in Cabinet at least until the end of May according to Ladbrokes.
Despite being heavily backed to leave Cabinet last week, punter sentiment seems to have done a U-turn with money now coming for Huhne to last until the end of the month. He’s now 1/2 to still be around at the end of May with 6/4 the price that he leaves before then.
He’s also on the drift in the ‘Next Liberal Democrat leader’ market with Tim Farron a strong favourite at 2/1. It’s 16/1 Vince Cable takes over the party next with Lembit Opik a rank 100/1 outsider.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Punters are in two minds about the fate of Huhne. We’re now seeing money for him to stick around until the end of the month at least.”
he added: “His credentials as the next party leader appear to be on the wane. Farron is rock solid in the market.”
