Tevez 8/11 to leave Man City before start of next season

| 16.05.2011

Carlos Tevez’ family seem set to have the deciding vote on whether the Argentine will remain at Manchester City next season.

Tevez has been a major factor in Manchester City’s success this season, with his 22 goals in all competitions helping them to win the FA Cup and secure Champions League football for the next campaign.

However, it remains unclear what the future holds, as Tevez has been linked with a move to Spain to join Real Madrid, while Inter Milan are among the Italian sides said to be interested.

It is 8/11 in the Premier League odds that Tevez does leave Eastlands in the summer and if he does go, the striker has indicated that it is not because he is not happy at the club.

Tevez said: “My family are my priority, I don’t have a problem with anyone at the club. Everyone treats me right. I have a great relationship with (Roberto) Mancini. We are both winners.

“But there is an issue we need to sort out and that’s the long distance between me and my family. The club wants to me stay and I also want to stay if everything is okay for my family.

“There are still two games to play and we are only focused on that. Then I will talk with my family and everyone else. I have not made a decision on anything yet. People say I am going but I am still here.”

Although a move to Spain or Italy would not geographically mean that he is much closer to his family in Argentina, the chance to fly home during a winter break would be a bonus, while his family may be more willing to move to Spain because they speak the same language.

Tevez’ stepped off the bench to make a brief late appearance in the FA Cup final win over Stoke and he will be keen to play a more pivotal role against the same opposition in their meeting in the Premier League.

Manchester City are 2/5 to beat Stoke, with Tevez the 3/1 favourite to open the scoring.

A £30 stake on the scorecast of Manchester City beating Stoke 2-0 and Tevez scoring first would return £480. New customers can sign up here for a free £30 bet.
