Day 3 Mens – Nadal’s sweet draw should see Spaniard dominate

| 22.06.2011

Ryan Sweeting may have come through a marathon five-setter in his first round match with Pablo Andujar, but his appearance time on centre court tomorrow will be significantly shorter.

The American world number 69 has been given the task of stopping Rafael Nadal reach the third round but considering Nadal’s odds are 1/200 to win, it’s safe to assume the Spaniard will line up in the third round.

Incredibly Nadal still finds Roger Federer ahead of him in the Wimbledon winner betting, but the Spaniard can gain back some of the punters that have deflected to Federer with a comfortable win on Wednesday.

Meanwhile punters searching for value in the second round of the Wimbledon odds can find plenty in the ties involving Feliciano Lopez, Milos Raonic and Mardy Fish.

Feliciano Lopez vs Rainer Schuettler

Lopez is the 2/7 favourite to win and it’s easy to see why considering he has seven wins to Schuettler’s one in their head-to-head ties.

They’ve met once before at the 2002 Wimbledon championships and Lopez was victorious in four sets – the Spaniard is 5/2 to win in four sets on Wednesday and both of the Grand Slam matches these two have competed in have gone four sets.

Gilles Muller vs Milos Raonic

All eyes are on young Canadian Raonic at this year’s Wimbledon as people are eager to see if the 21-year-old can live up to the hype.

Raonic is 1/3 to beat Muller on Wednesday and after a comprehensive three-set victory in the first round the Canadian looks good value for the win.

Muller had a difficult first round match against Tommy Haas but the German will find Raonic too strong in the second round.

Denis Istomin vs Mardy Fish

The big serving Istomin is likely to pose a few problems to Fish in their second round clash but the American should have no problems dealing with the serve as he looks to justify his 2/7 price to win.

It may not be a straightforward contest and the value is in backing Fish to win 3-1 at 5/2, but the American world number nine will line up in the third round.
