JOE MCELDERRY is the 5/4 favourite to win Popstar to Operastar according to Ladbrokes.

Andy Bell and Midge Ure are the joint 5/1 second favourites with Melody Thornton the shortest priced female at 6/1.

It’s 3/10 any male singer wins the contest with 12/5 the price we see a female winner.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “McElderry’s reality TV course and distance form makes him a worthy favourite. We’re expecting a few surprises when people start singing however and can’t rule anyone out at this stage.”
