Nadal a winner for the bookies despite pre-match gamble
Published:RAFAEL NADAL was a well backed winner of the French Open final according to Ladbrokes.
Punters couldn’t get enough of the Spaniard pre-match forcing his price into 4/11 (from 4/9) however the firm emerged unscathed as Roger Federer was well supported in-play at all stages of the match.
Nadal is still the 9/4 favourite to win Wimbledon this year and 5/2 joint market leader with Djokovic for the US Open. Andy Murray earns a 6/1 quote for both tournaments.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “There was a big move for Nadal pre-match but the Federer support in-play cancelled that out with a bit to spare. Nadal looks set for a bold show at Wimbledon with the odds suggesting Federer will be at the business end of the tournament again as well.”
