The Weekly Accumulator: We can’t help ourselves with Wimbledon on

| 22.06.2011

We were let down by three selections yesterday, the most surprising being Sam Stosur’s first round exit to Melinda Czink.

Nikolay Davydenko confirmed out suspicions that his game is in drastic decline following a straight sets defeat to exciting youngster Bernard Tomic yesterday, and Tommy Robredo fell dramatically in straight sets to Yen-Hsun Lu.

While just the three selections cost us our 20-fold 100/1 accumulator, we’ve caught the bug big time and it’s going to be third time lucky with our 140/1 accumulator today.

Fernando Verdasco to beat Robin Haase @ 1/2
Daniela Hantuchova to beat Marina Erakovic @ 4/6
Juan Ignacio Chela to beat Alex Bogomolov Jr @ 8/11
Chanelle Scheepers to beat Evgeniya Rodina @ 1/1
Dudi Sela to beat Giles Simon @ 6/4

There are a few tighter calls than Monday and Tuesday’s accumulators but we’re confident the odds on chances will all show their class.

The real tight call is backing Dudi Sela to beat Giles Simon but the Israeli has been in great form on the grass court, winning four of his five warm-up games for Wimbledon before destroying Frederico Gil in the first round.

Simon has been poor on the grass and struggled in his first round match with a guy ranked 145 in the world, and we’re willing to take a chance on Sela.
