Pick of the Pundits – Only in-form tipster opts for Dixie’s Dream

| 12.07.2011

With only one Racing Post tipster currently enjoying a winning sequence of more than one winner, Chris Golding of the Sunday Express is the man to follow at the moment.

Golding is on a winning streak of three consecutive predictions and is one of three tipsters confident of the chances of Dixie’s Dream at Brighton today.

15.10 Brighton: Dixie’s Dream – 8/11

Only six horses contest the Catering Services International Median Auction Maiden and on paper the race is one that should not take a lot of winning.

The form of three of the five horses to have run previously looks modest and the maiden certainly looks less competitive than Dixie’s Dream’s latest start at Windsor where he finished fourth.

Dutchman’s Field is the one rival who may make things competitive, who could improve from his debut at Leicester when he struggled to get competitive after making a mess of the start.

There is no horse running at any of today’s six meetings that is especially popular among the tipsters, with Native Colony, King Of Swords and Corsicanrun the others to be selected three times.

Native Colony makes his handicap debut in the 21.00 at Yarmouth and should be suited by the step up in trip to 1m6f.

Being from the in-form yard of Roger Varian is also in Native Colony’s favour and 2/1 seems decent value that he will triumph.

Corsicanrun runs in the 16.00 at Beverley and also has strong claims at 4/1 being a course and distance winner, while he should benefit from the decent pace set by Polish World.

Meanwhile, King Of Swords is 3/1 in the 13.30 at Beverley and will relish the stiff track as he prepares to run off a career-low mark.

But there are many horses in with a chance, including Port Ronan at 6/1, who finished second over the same course and distance recently.
