Janet Devlin shortest odds for any contestant after first weekend

| 22.08.2011

Simon Cowell is 10/1 with Ladbrokes to never appear on the X Factor again.

Record-busting ratings say he won’t be missed this year and the bookies now make him odds-on (1/2) to not appear in the entire series. It’s 6/4 he materialises at any stage.

Janet Devlin has also roared to the head of the betting (5/1 favourite) and she now has the shortest odds of winning the show any contestant has had after the first weekend. Frankie Cocozza is the 16/1 second favourite and Kitty Brucknell earns a 40/1 quote to win.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “The ratings spoke for themselves this weekend. The odds now suggest we may have seen the last of Cowell but who knows what tricks he has up his sleeve.”

He added: “It’s early days in the show winner betting but we’ve already got a red-hot favourite. We’ve never known odds so short after the first weekend and it looks like Devlin will take all the beating.”
