Pick of the Pundits: Tipsters looking for grand finish at Brighton

Published:

Almost a fifth of the Racing Post naps competition tipsters are napping Grandeur in the 14:30 Class 5 Maiden Stakes at Brighton today.

An incredible nine tipsters, including three who offer a positive return for their selections this year are napping the favourite and you can expect plenty of money on course for Grandeur.

However, with four of the tipsters in very poor form- Fortunatus of the Sheffield Star hasn’t napped a winner in the last week, Moorestyle of the Daily Star Sunday is on a 10-day losing streak and Phil Rostron of the Carlisle News & Star is providing a £48.95 loss for his naps this year – it may be worth opposing Grandeur.

14:30 Brighton: Grandeur – 4/6

The favourite has already been backed in from 4/5 to 4/6 this morning and there is plenty of money for Jeremy Noseda’s two-year-old.

Having lost out by a head on his debut at Glorious Goodwood in a Class 2 is the reason for such support, and over the same trip today he has the chance to prove the punter’s faith in his ability.

However in Bronze Angel and Siouxperhero he is up against two experienced two-year-olds and Bronze Angel’s fourth at Glorious Goodwood is not to be overlooked.

This race has only been run three times but on only one occasion has the favourite triumphed, and Bronze Angel may offer a little more value at 7/4.

However Grandeur’s trainer is in incredible form and considering the pedigree of Grandeur, there is plenty to suggest this Class 5 company should be a breeze for Wiliam Buick and his mount today.

Bronze Angel is likely to push him all the way but Itsonlymakebelieve may be the one to fill the other place and at 66/1, he’s offering a very tidy return.
