Udinese vs Arsenal: Udinese to win but away goal to save Wenger

Published:

At least Arsene Wenger won’t be hiding in the stands for what could possibly be the biggest game of his Arsenal career.

UEFA have granted Wenger access to the bench for Arsenal’s crucial Champions League tie with Udinese tonight, and Wenger will need to use of all his experience to guide his Arsenal team through to the Champions League stages tonight.

Match Odds

Arsenal are the 4/11 favourites to qualify tonight and the fact they shut out Udinese in the first leg is a huge bonus.

An away goal from Arsenal would put the Gunners in a strong position to qualify but Wenger’s side have failed to score in their opening two league games and Udinese are very tempting at 2/1 to qualify.

Udinese look the value bet at 13/10 to win tonight considering they lost just four games at home last season, but a 2-1 victory would see the Italian side go out on the away goals rule.

Arsenal’s last eight European games away from home have seen them lose six and win two, and so Wenger will put an emphasis on getting the away goal tonight.

Total Goals

It’s going to be a nervy evening if you are an Arsenal fan and Antonio Di Natale looks the pick of the first goalscorers at 9/2.

Di Natale has been the top Serie A scorer in the past two seasons and has been the most prolific Serie A scorer over the last five seasons with 97 goals in 160, and the striker attempted eight of Udinese’s 18 shots at the Emirates last week.

Should Wenger take the cautious approach tonight then Theo Walcott looks the best bet to get Arsenal’s all important goal at 3/1 to score any time, and Arsenal are 11/10 to get the last goals.

A 2-1 victory for Udinese is priced at 8/1 and while Wenger will not be happy at losing, the Frenchman would take that result if offered to him now.
